Graduate case studies
Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Financial management, logistics organisation of scientific forums and conferences, scientific presentation preparation
Making and updating cost-trackers, sending emails to medical opinion leaders, organising event logistics e.g. travel
I am surrounded by the latest science and get to learn about it
I get to combine my scientific background with other skills
Understanding the specifics of medical communications
I get to use the knowledge and skills from my degree outside of a lab setting
I get to use skills learnt through my time running a youth charity
I get to be sociable and interact a lot with others
Communication both oral and written, initiative, my degree, organisation, time management
I worked in bars and coffee shops for 9 months after my degree
Probably progressing in the same industry
Have a plan of work for the year after your degree e.g. teaching abroad or bar work to take a breather and decide what you want to do and you can use that time to apply for jobs you really want instead of rushing.
Thanks Sheffield University. I wouldn't be here without you.
