Advanced Skills Teacher (History)

Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

Classroom teacher, city network leader for History teaching, outreach work in other secondary schools.

Typical day

Teaching ages 11 to 18, leading after school training, meetings with Leeds Children's Services.

What do I enjoy about my job?

Learning, networking, educating the next generation.

Challenging aspects

Giving pupils the opportunity to see the relevance of History.

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

My passion for education, learning, the opportunity to work with young people from a variety of schools.

BA History, PGCE, mentoring.
