Graduate case studies
Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Managing small to large teams (+100) conducting fraud/regulatory/accounting investigations and financial crime projects. Developing the team and providing them with opportunities to grow their skills. In addition I have business development responsibilities.
Based in the office or at a client site worldwide managing and directing the team to conduct investigations by reviewing accounting records, interviewing people, reviewing emails/electronic documentation, conducting office searches and producing a written report of our findings. A typical day involves lots of meetings with clients and the team.
I work with a great team and particularly enjoy the people element to my job. When you first start a project, especially an investigation, it's like a puzzle that you have to solve. You create a hypothesis which you then have to test through the investigation.
Being prepared to work away from home when required, sometimes for long periods of time.
The work is varied and no two projects are the same. I enjoy the buzz.
Ability to manage client demands and the team, in addition to absorbing a large volume of information and applying analytical skills.
ICAEW Chartered Accountant - ACA together with ongoing training courses.
Completed my Chartered Accountancy qualifications within the Audit & Assurance department. Upon qualification in 2008, I transferred to Forensic.
Continuing with Deloitte within the Forensic team.

These events provide you with the opportunity to speak to lots of people to find out about their chosen careers. This really helped me decide on which company I wanted to join.
