Creating exciting content which clients are really proud of.

Seeing that content receive coverage in national and regional publications.

Challenging aspects

Being heavily reliant on journalists for the campaigns succeeding.

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

Having worked as a journalist for just less than two years I really enjoyed being involved in the media but wanted to have more of an influence on businesses as whole. Being at an agency like Impression allows me to work with a variety of businesses from different sectors which means no two days are the same.

Skills/qualifications I use in my job?

Strong copywriting skills in producing press releases for journalists.

Communication with clients and internal teams on how campaigns are progressing.

Organisation: Working on several different accounts means I have to plan out my weeks and schedule the work I’m going to do in order to make sure I spread my time out evenly on all of the clients.

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

Try to consume as much news as possible so you get an idea of the stories which interest different types of audiences.

Don’t be afraid to ask people within your business or industry for advice or their opinion on your work. All feedback is extremely valuable and you’ll learn lots.
