Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

Building relationships with candidates and clients;
Sourcing candidates;
Creating mailers and job adverts;
Arranging interviews and placing candidates in roles.

Typical day

I work on the Social Care team recruiting Qualified Social Workers. A typical day would include using the reed.co.uk database to source Social Workers, calling them to screen them, submitting them to jobs and speccing them in to clients.

What do I enjoy about my job?

It's quite a social role, you're always talking to people and I have a good team in a sociable office. It's also satisfying placing people into jobs.

Challenging aspects

Key Performance Indicators, and difficult or unreliable candidates.

Career information

Brief history since leaving University

I graduated June 2016 and started on the Reed Graduate Scheme in September 2016, working in Victoria, London. I have now almost completed my first rotation on the scheme.

Where do I see myself in the future?

For my next rotation (starting in September) I will be joining the Reed Marketing team as a Marketing Executive. The great thing about this grad scheme is that you have the option to rotate into a different role for each of the 3 years, giving you great exposure to the business and experience of different roles.
