Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

Create Work instructions and develop manufacturing processes for new product integration.

Typical day

Learning how things are manufactured, looking at technical drawings and 3D CAD models, creating and developing work instructions, continuous improvement.

What do I enjoy about my job?

Always learning new and interesting things.

Challenging aspects

Sometimes working with difficult people/ objections to change.

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

I really enjoyed learning about manufacturing processes at uni.

Skills/qualifications I use in my job?

Problem solving, team work, communication.

Brief history since leaving University

2 years on a graduate scheme, lean and six sigma training, iso9001.

Where do I see myself in the future?

I would like to eventually become an operations manager.
