Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

-Optimising digital channels through a test and learn programme
- Supporting fundraising team with digital objectives
- Project managing marketing of the My Oxfam app
- Producing content for the My Oxfam app
- Analytics and performance analysis of marketing, content and app users

Typical day

I am involved in writing copy, coming up with ideas for content, sending mass emails, creative briefs.

What do I enjoy about my job?

My job is incredibly rewarding and varied. I feel like I am making a positive difference to the world and I'm surrounded by inspiring, like-minded people. In all of my roles I've been given a lot of freedom to develop my ideas.

Challenging aspects

There is pressure to deliver on targets, and the voluntary sector tends to be under-resourced.

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

I wanted to do something meaningful.

Skills/qualifications I use in my job?

I use analytical, project management and numerical skills I gained through my degree. I use written and verbal communication skills, IT skills and softer people skills.

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

I would advise getting involved in some of the extracurricular activities on offer at the Student's Union, this helped me learn practical skills in fundraising, organisation and gave me examples to use in job interviews.
