I am in the Technical Service and Development group for Dow Elastomers. I work with customers on development projects, linking their unmet needs to our R&D organisation. I work with customers to solve their problems, help them develop new products, and feed back information on what the market needs to Dow internally so that new products and solutions that meet that demand can be developed.

Typical day

- Customer visits, to present new products, uncover their unmet needs, run trials on their equipment etc.
- In the office I will perform technical support remotely, coordinate lab trials and testing internally, document work performed, work with marketing and sales to develop strategies on how to approach a market, conduct research to develop new materials and test applications for those materials

What do I enjoy about my job?

The variety of applications I get to work with - from adhesives to toys to automotive hoses

Challenging aspects
