Career information

Brief history since leaving University

Graduated July 2019. August 2019 started working as support worker on an acute mental health ward. February 2020 got on to a trainee PWP course with my current employer. March 2020 started studying at UEA 2 days a week and in service 3 days, the course is a diploma in low intensity CBT interventions which is needed to become a PWP. January 2021 qualified and now work full time as a PWP

Where do I see myself in the future?

I am looking at applying for a clinical doctorate (psychology). I have been offered a job as an assistant psychologist in Sheffield Childrens Hospital starting July/August 2021. After this I will start applying to doctorate, if no success go back to PWP work

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

Volunteer when at university (Flourish, Nightline) and get a support worker job if you can. I did bank work for Citizenship First.
