Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

I lead projects in which components like turbochargers, exhaust throttle valves are developed for future emission standards like Euro 6+, Stage V, EPA 2021.

Typical day

My day usually consists of leading engineering planning sessions, setting the scope of the projects and executing projects (>$10M) in worldwide Cummins manufacturing plants to agreed schedules and costs. I also work with senior management to ensure the team gets the required support.

What do I enjoy about my job?

Multi dimensional experience, Travel, interaction with senior management

Challenging aspects

Cross cultural work, remote teams, matrix working structures

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

I work with a wide range of functions. I work with engineering on design and development, manufacturing on production engineering, purchasing on Supply chain etc.

Skills/qualifications I use in my job?

Engineering problem solving, Product Development, Reciprocating Engines and application of turbo machinery etc.

Where do I see myself in the future?

I would like to do an MBA in the future. Long term I see myself as a business leader in Cummins leading product development.
