Graduate case studies
Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Teacher and head of literacy
Teaching 11-16 year olds, dealing with behaviour issues, GCSEs exam marking, implementing teaching and learning strategies across the school specifically focused on improving levels of literacy
Seeing pupils achieve. Looking at experimental teaching methods and trailing them.
Work load is the main issue particularly marking.
I love studying English and as a teacher I can continue with it. I also relate will to young people.
My English degree from Sheffield and teacher training qualification
Worked as a receptionist in London and then in educational publishing. Then taught English as a foreign language for a year in Thailand, and then moved back to Manchester to become a teacher.
I plan to become a lead practitioner to keep my focus on improving teaching and learning in school.
I would advise them to do as much work experience as possible and speak to other teachers. It's a fantastic job but hard work.
