Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

My main responsibilities include conceptualising, designing and planning both in architectural and interior design projects. Drafting all working drawings along with interior design details is a part of my job.

Typical day

- Getting drawings completed on time and interacting with their associated consultants or vendors
- Selection of materials ( Not everyday )
- Client meetings ( Not everyday )
- Regular site visits ( Not everyday )
- Estimate preparation ( Not everyday )

What do I enjoy about my job?

I love the fact that I can do something new everyday and being a creative field, there is no such thing as monotonous.

Challenging aspects

The practicality of work differs a lot from the theory part of it and hence each day is a new learning curve. Also, since many agencies work in tandem, good managerial skills are required. Site visits can sometimes be physically taxing.

Why did this area of work appeal to me?

I have always wanted to become an architect. My love and intrigue for the design of spaces and buildings made architecture as my obvious choice for my profession.

B-Arch, MSc in Sustainable Architecture Studies, Indian Green Building Council ( IGBC ) Accredited Professional
Software skills: Auto-CAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Vasari, Climate Consultant, Google Sketch-Up, MS Office
