About the job

Main responsibilities

Client management; ensuring clients are dealt with efficiently and their requirements are met.

Operations managements; researching new markets, blogging and content creation, and recruitment.

Typical day

I start work at 08:30. The majority of the morning consists of client management in the UK and Switzerland; matching students with tutors, dealing with new enquiries and requests, ensuring existing clients are happy.

After lunch, until the end of the day at 17:30, I do a mixture of client management and project-based work; blogging, recruitment, researching new markets and business expansion avenues.

Career information

Brief history since leaving University

After graduating Sheffield I completed an MA in Sociology at the University of Liverpool. I then went on to work at a boarding school for two academic years as a pastoral and academic support residential tutor.

In May 2016 I moved to London to work at Foxtons as a Property Manager, and swiftly left the industry to move back into education at my current role at Elite IB Tutors.

Where do I see myself in the future?

I plan to apply for a teaching training place for September 2018 entry.

Before then, I am planning on moving into a role with another tuition agency / company that is more focused on tutoring and direct (face-to-face) customer engagement, and/or pastoral care.
