Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Design the piping systems including stress analysis for onshore and offshore oil refineries - for clients such as BP and Statoil.
Designing on a PC - then going on site for commissioning.
Client meetings and team meetings to track progress.
The technical challenge and client facing role.
Thrown in at the deep end - have to learn quite a lot and fast.

Degree but on the job learning.
I have been on the graduate scheme since 2013, working towards IMechE chartership.
I have also sat the CFA IMC exams for finance and investments.
After Chartership and the 4 year grad rotation scheme, I plan to remain as a Senior Engineer.
Senior Engineer or moving into Project Engineering.
Become a Chartered Engineer and Fellow IMechE member.
Enjoy it - make sure you enjoy what you study as it is crucial.
Engineering is also an incredibly versatile career path - with several avenues.
Good Luck!
