Graduate case studies
I want an academic career and a PhD is required. It is also a very rewarding experience developing your skills and having freedom to do the research you want.
2013-2014 - MRes Life Sciences, University of Cambridge
2012-2013 - MRes Computational Biology, University of York
I would like to proceed with a career in academia, or move into an industrial setting where I can apply computational techniques to study biological systems.
It can be extremely rewarding, there is a lot of work involved but any job always will. The academic life has the benefits of flexibility in when you work and freedom to choose the direction of the research. An undergraduate degree in the life sciences will always be interesting and show whether a person has enough intrigue to ask the necessary questions at a higher level.
