Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

Lead on the organisation and delivery of A-levels in English.

Typical day

Teaching, managing, attending meetings, interacting with children of all ages, facilitating after-school events, running after-school clubs.

What do I enjoy about my job?

The fact that no day is the same. I feel I am in a privileged position as I help children.

Managing behaviour, marking and the politics of a school!

I am planning on becoming a qualified SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) or AST (Advanced Skills Teacher).

My piece of advice to students

Consider all of the possible routes into teaching and choose the one that suits you best. I personally felt that my attributes and personal beliefs were most aligned with the Teach First Programme.
