Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Reporting on Scottish politics, including Brexit, independence and issues affecting Aberdeen, Europe's energy capital, for the people of North-east Scotland.
Researching and writing political news stories for a six-edition regional newspaper. Interviewing politicians, campaigners and people affected by political changes, e.g. disabled people hit by the bedroom tax changes.
Reporting on current affairs.
Dealing with people who don't want me to write a story about what they or their organisation have been doing!
I want to make sure people know what's being done in their name, hold the powerful to account and hopefully influence things for the better.

Keep trying, because you will get knocked back at first. When that happens, ask what you could do better (shorthand, driving licence, work experience?) and keep adding to your CV, refining and tailoring your approach to each individual editor.
