Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

About the job

Main responsibilities

I'm responsible for accounting, the administration of taxes (issuing, sorting out problems) and archiving data.

Typical day

Archiving (bills, staff's days off, invoices etc)
Issuing vouchers for payments
Troubleshooting and dealing with resident's problems

What do I enjoy about my job?

My collegues and the interaction with people. It's nice to feel that you are helpful and that happens in quite a lot of cases.

Challenging aspects

Trying to keep calm and to communicate if there is an injustice.

Skills/qualifications I use in my job?

Mostly language and organisational related skills.

Brief history since leaving University

I started work with this job in 2010.

Where do I see myself in the future?

Given the circumstances in Cyprus right now, I really have no idea. I hope to find something abroad.

Do not give up, take advantage of all the opportunities you find, and give your best.

Other comments

My year at Sheffield was one of the most interesting and constructive years of my life. I gained a lot from the programme and I would highly recommend (I have already done it actually) Sheffield University to others.
