Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

Don't believe recruiters/interviewers who tell you that you are limited in your career because of the subject you sudied at university.
Interview only for jobs you really want, are passionate about and can demonstrate this passion for. If you don't have this you are wasting your time.

I am working in a job and sector which is saturated with Oxbridge students and Economics graduates, but my passion for the job and my commitement to teach myself the extra knowledge for the interview and tests meant that it didn't matter that I didn't fit either of those typical criteria.

Don't be afraid to go the extra mile to work hard for the job you really want. Very few people are lucky enough to walk out of uni and into their dream job. It took me over three years after graduation and a lot of extra work to open the door I wanted. Believe in your skills and your ability and don't give up.
