Graduate case studies
Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Working in a small team to develop LabVIEW software for testing fuel cells and systems. Taking high level requirements through to design, implementation, testing and support of software produced.
Supporting (e.g. bug fixes / new features) existing software. Developing new software for new test requirements. Work on gathering asset management data on test rig utilisation across the business.
Seeing software in use by the organisation. Mental challenge of problem solving and finding interesting/optimum solutions to problems.
Always been interested in software development / programming and wanted to do software development work with hardware (e.g. sensors/actuators).
Understanding of engineering systems. LabVIEW Certified Developer. Software engineering and LabVIEW programming skills.
Access to further LabVIEW training courses and certifications.
After graduation I worked for 27 months on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Kingston University & Chess Dynamics as a Control and R&D Engineer. Gained a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership and became a Chartered Manager shortly afterwards. Worked towards and achieved my Certified LabVIEW Developer qualification.
