Graduate case studies
Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
I handle specific client and agency accounts, co-ordinating international Outdoor campaigns throughout the JCDecaux portfolio (airports, roadside, transport etc).
As this is a sales role, there is no fixed daily routine as requests and briefs can come in at any time from any market looking to advertise with us.
I get to speak and work with a huge variety of different cultures and markets so the job is very varied.
That each day is varied and will throw up a new challenge to find a solution to.
Understanding how each market's culture of work is different to the UK's and how to respect their demands as well as the demands of the markets I am dealing with.
There is also the challenge of having to respond to international enquiries as quickly but as efficiently as possible.
The fact I get to continue using my French language skills and also that I am able to deal with so many nationalities on a daily basis.
French language skills (as well as recently learned Spanish and previously studied German).
Presentation skills which began at university
Minimal. This is a unique role and hence training really centres on keeping up with the various international developments within the company.
I got a graduate job as a French and Italian Travel Specialist in a small, luxury tour operator in London, selling luxury holidays to France and Italy. This was held for 2 years.
I have been in my current role since the last job (hence over 6 years)
I would like to add further qualifications but as yet, these have not been decided.
I think it's vital that students do paid work whilst still at uni, whether it be a summer internship or work during term times. Work experience is key.
