Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.
Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering
-Liaison with various engineering departments and procurement to ensure consistency and quality of work.
-Dealing with equipment suppliers
-Liaison with client to ensure client satisfaction with work performed.
-Design of various mechanical equipments such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, chemical injection packages, pumps, etc.
-Writing Technical specifications and standards
-Writing enquiry and purchase requisitions
The engineering challenges.
Meeting project deadlines for a large number of deliverables, Novel and new design work for niche scenarios.
-The range of activities performed , switching from engineering to a management role day to day.
-The possibilities of working in locations around the globe ranging from the far east to the middle east etc.
