Career information

Brief history since leaving University

Moved to Brussels in 2005 to find work using languages. I secured an intern-ship in the European Parliament working for a Lib Dem MEP. This was brilliant experience and although I didn't end up using languages after this it took me down the route of political work which I am still engaged in- now back home in Yorkshire.

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

I would recommend contacting MEPs to try to work in a political office in Brussels. This was a brilliant first job where I used languages and learnt a lot about the world of work and politics.

I did a module in EU studies at Sheffield which really helped me when looking for work in Brussels.
