Helen -
Associate University Librarian

Even though many of our graduates will have progressed in their careers since completing a case study, they are still of interest to students who wish to gain an understanding of the world of work.

Advice to students

My piece of advice to students

Be flexible around pay/permanence of the job when starting out - sometimes it's best just to get your foot on the ladder.

Experience is key so volunteer at libraries throughout your course and try and obtain experience in as many varied roles as possible.

Practical skills are really useful so make sure you know how to create an app, build a database, write a script.
